Keith Wright Mr Shining Light 2023

When physical illness forced sociable Derry DJ and genealogist Keith Wright indoors in 2018, he was unaware of the devastating toll being housebound would have on his mental health over the next three years. Derry's new Mr Shining Light Mental Health Champion 2023/24 said he never thought of himself as someone who would reach a point where he considered suicide, but this is what happened after seemingly endless months of isolation. 
Keith said he wanted to share his experience of own struggles to help others who may be suffering from mental illness, and said that if it can happen to him, it can happen to anyone.
