you walked on the beach in the moon light
Your ego was foolish and strong
In the dark black shadows beckoned
The swell seemed so smooth and so long

You threw off your cloths with abandon
Like a lover leaping to bed
As waves caressed your torso and
The sea rose over your head

What happened next is a secret
A secret we’ll never know
For the sea had taken a lover
A lover she’d never let go

You lay on the beach in the midnight
Blue moon on the rise
Shimmering over the water
Mirrored in dead men's eyes

The sea, once so insistent
Reluctant now to let go
the last small waves of existence
Lap softly against your soul
