The people around me think they've figure me out
Like they really know me inside and out
Judging and speculating the person they see
Not really knowing whose the real me

They act like I'm just another girl
Too young and innocent to face the whole world
They look at me and tell me I'm too weak
That the chances for me are just way too bleak

And even though sometimes I believe what they say
That there won't be anything waiting for me someday
And that maybe failure is what's destined to be
But something inside screams, 'I'll never let it be! '

I'll never give up; I'll never back down
Cause my dreams will be waiting on the other side
I'll take the first step and open my eyes
Seizing the day and reaching for the skies

I'll just keep dreaming and do my best everyday
Knowing that tomorrow will surely be on the way
And the people around me will start to see
The strong and wonderful person hidden inside me.
