kayleigh 2007 - war

echos of a broken man
lost in the sands of war
worrier all gather round
tears fall from the war ridden face
another lost sole
another body another hole
a friend a farther a mother a daughter
they will never be forgotten
but in time all will be left
is a poppy what they
died for will be in vain
for in the years to come they
will just be another name
another remembrance day
and yet they lessons will not be learned
we doomed ourselves
for a belief that no longer exists
freedom is what we thought we would gain
but in the end we will all be bound
with chains
we will all have to pay on judgment day
we choice to fight but our beloved solder
never chose to die
we never thought what would be lost alone the way
we never thought how many we would lose to this
never ending war
