Kaydee Forsmark - A Wolf And His Sunset

A lone wolf stands erect,
In the shadow of a great pine,
Awaiting his love: the sunset.
As the sun casts it shadow on his darkly handsome face,
It slides towards the horizon.

Then, all of a sudden, there is a burst of color,
What the wolf is waiting for,
The wolf's face, along with his spirit, brightened
And he smiled.
A white smile that the sunset loved,
The smile was mirrored by an explosion of red across the sky.

As the sun sank lower and lower in the sky,
So did the wolf, only lower in spirit
So, when the sun's last rays upon the sky receded
The wolf began to howl, because
There was the moon, so nearly full,
The mirroring amulet of the suns beauty,
Put in place so she'll not be forgotten,
By her one true love: the wolf.
