I let you go
without complaining
You must do it
All alone

Because whatever I do
Whether I pray or beg
It is up to you
Yourself alone

I'm not going to argue
Whether I whine or sigh
You do what you want
It's your life

I hand it over
To higher powers
the Universe
As you wish
It's not up to me

My time has been
I did my best
To help you
grow up

It's your life
your decisions
What you want
With your future

I am here
If you need me
Where else is
a mother for

Yet it is
Not always easy
Letting go of you
My big son
