Number two. Second best. Average...

Everyone has their number one person,
but what about their second best?

Feel left out, alone and not as important.
All you want is their attention.
You try to tell them, try to be closer to them.
But they don't see you past two.

You are not the person they run to right away.
You are not the person they care about most.
They don't need to talk to you every day
because they have their number one.

Maybe being second best makes you harder on the outside.
Toughens you up.
You don't need them, you've got yourself.

However, deep inside you feel that maybe just once you would like to be in number one's shoes, so that you would know what it feels like to be that persons best.
