Kathleen Reguindin - Spring has Sprung!
11 Views • Jun 13, 2014
Description
A new season starts, Spring is here.
Outdoors, I venture
Donning my hiking boots and gaiters.
Into the woods I walk
Trees still barren, showing signs of promise
Everywhere, puddles of water, soggy earth
Trails are muddy, but I don't care.
All around I see beginnings of life.
I smell Spring, very refreshing.
I feel a gentle breeze blowing.
Droplets of water falling.
Spring flowers from the grounds peek
Crocuses, hyacinths and daffodils
From under dead leaves their buds poke.
As I continue my journey on these paths
Gently touching fuzzy catkins on pussy willows
I love seeing signs of Spring!
Robins and bluebirds hopping
Flipping leaves, worms and bugs they're pecking.
I gaze high up above, and across blue skies
I see hundreds of geese take flight.
In V-formations, nature is so amazing!
The flock leader's strong wings flapping
Behind him, hundreds following
From where I stand, I hear some honking
Urging each other on, encouraging
Keep it up, don't give up!
Soon we will be home, no doubt!
