Reveal to me
The cause of my discrepancy

My said ‘black heart’ I cannot dye
A red or blue
Or some brighter hue
To cover my heart’s sadness

Mirror, mirror
Bring to light
My love, to him who is my night
And day, and everything,
My one reason to sing.
And fan love’s flame within him
