Katherine Bryce - Makes Me Smile

Early in the morning,
I catch a glimps,
but come the evening,
I say good-bye.

I smile at the sight,
as I stare at it,
deeply until my eyes,
start to lose focus.

I love the warmth,
and heat it gives,
I could just spend my days,
staring at it.

As it starts to set,
I walk to it,
and pretend that,
it'll never leave me.

But of course I know,
it'll greet me again,
and that one day,
I'll say good-bye forever.

I hate to even,
think of that now,
but one day I'll say good-bye,
to the one thing that makes me smile.
