I know mommy’s gone but it not just your fight.
You’re not the only one missing her; I have to live through it too,
But I am still young, and I am lost, I don’t know what to do.
I have to get up every morning, and hassle against the truth,
But should I be fighting this war, on my own, in my youth?
I had to choose my weapons to for this battle
I use prayer, I use truth; you turned to that horrible bottle.
As if death didn’t tear this family enough apart
You had to take that spear and drive in deeper into my heart
Please let it go daddy, before it kills my heart too….
I don’t know who you are now, not my father, but my daddy, I love you.
