I cried myself to sleep every night

My greatest fear was you not by my side
What if I told you,
My heart had been broken numerous times
What if I told you,
I used to get hit every day
What if you knew,
I tried to run away
Would you love me,
If I was gone?
Would you hold me,
If I was wrong?
What if I told you,
At one time, I was naked, fearful, and cold
What if I told you,
I had a knife to my throat
What if you knew,
I had been used and abused
Would you still love me?
Would you?
What if I told you
There's nothing left to say?
What if....
You were the reason my life was saved?
