Karley Kay - Darkness Returns

The darkness returns, the shadows surround me
Suddenly I forgot how to breathe
What's going on?
Why is this happening again?
Breathe in, breathe out
Choke back the sobs
Resist the urge to hide.

Why am I crying?
My fingernails
Dig deep into my palms
Bringing blood
I cringe, wipe
My hands on my pants
And burst into tears.

What's wrong with me?
My breathing is fast
My heart is beating loud
Tears stream down my face
So many emotions inside of me
Are now on the outside
Where they never should be.

They should have stayed
Hidden, out of sight
I can handle this
I can-Can't I?
Hands shaking,
Head pounding
Body cold as ice.

Confusion, hurt
Pain, depression
Once again it appears
To torture me once more
Nothing new but
Each time it hurts
More than the last.....

Until the day
You come to me.
You make it better
You make me smile
You make me whole
I love you
With all my soul
