Calm descends within the rain
Seagulls bellow as wet tires rush
Onwards and upwards
Forging new destinations
Pushing unknown humans home
Christmas morning is not as black as expected
Not as cruel as dreaded
Not as white as hoped
No its just as grey a day
As any other

Where the mist loiters to shield the non believer from gazing up
Searching for exceptional stars
Tangerine lights in blocks of flats betray the restless
Cracks in the clouds display the hope that
It shall be a fine winters day
A disabled vehicle parked outside brings thoughts, many thoughts rushing through as insignificant snippets rearing and dying
Pushed out by a fresh new revelation

The fridge humms
The sister sleeps
And me, my mind scurries all over the world to friends
My friends
And i smile
I am lucky
Really
It is indeed a fine day christmas day
