Karen Curcio - The Creature

You were asleep when in the night,
You felt and heard a strange sight.
Afraid to move, afraid to speak,
What was this creature
That appeared so sleek? Being alone in the woods felt so right,
But now you are terrified with fright.
The creature moved with head poised down,
Slowly it circled you around and around.
It never stopped but paced the ground. Then suddenly it ran into the forest deep,
Then you awoke! You were asleep.
But far away you heard the howl,
of the wolf.
