Kaplan's Melodists - Papa Better Watch Your Step

Since my previous video was inexplicably rejected (I posted the same tune in another version long ago), I am trying this one, with a very appropriate title... American pianist and bandleader Dave Kaplan (not to be mistaken for the Canadian bandleader Dave Caplan) is almost totally forgotten today. Sadly, hardly any information is available about him. He is best remembered for his work accompanying the Happiness Boys at the piano. As a bandleader, he exclusively recorded for Edison, mainly during the first half of the 1920s. This outstanding record was made in 1923.
