Kanye West creates a Twitter star

US rapper Kanye West has catapulted a British man to online superstar after choosing to follow him on Twitter.

The artist joined the social networking site less than a week ago but his fan base is growing by the day and he currently has over 380,000 followers.

However, the Gold Digger rapper was not following anyone himself, until Saturday night when he chose to follow ste_101's tweets, who turns out to be a man from Coventry.

Real-name Steven Holmes was shocked by his famous fan and tweeted: "I feel pressure to say amusing and witty tweets now @kanyewest is following"

But the rapper gave him some moral support by replying: Tweet strong young man tweet strong!!!"

It is not understood why Kanye has chosen to follow just one person, but as a result of his famous fan, Steven's followers have grown from 60 to over 2,000.
