Kanye West being sued over assault

Rapper Kanye West is being sued by a photographer over an alleged gang assault.

Michael Vasquez claims that the star and his entourage, 'assaulted, battered, beat and threatened' him at a New York party in 2008 where the pair were both working.

The 44-year-old is seeking unspecified monetary damages for what he claims is a 'physical, mental and emotional illness.'

The lawsuit against Kanye officially states that, 'his agents, servants and/or employees... caused plaintiff to suffer injuries.'

As yet the rapper has not responded to the claims.

Meanwhile, the American artist has posted artwork from his upcoming single H.A.M onto Twitter receiving a rapturous reception from fans. The single comes from Kanye's debut joint album with Jay Z.
