Kalki Koechlin - Biography

Kalki Koechlin, born on 9th January 1983 at Pondicherry, is an Indian actress of French descent and daughter of Joel Koechlin, who hitch hiked from France to India.

Kalki started her career by joining Goldsmiths acting course at London University and did plays for a theatre group- Theatre of Relativity.

Kalki made her debut in Hindi films in the year 2009 in a film Dev D, and her acting abilities were applauded and she won awards like Filmfare Best Debut Award.

Kalki has acted in many films like Dev D, THE FILM Emotional Atyachar, Shaitan, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, My Friend Pinto, Shanghai.

Kalki has also co written the film - That Girl In Yellow Boots where she has also acted.

Kalki fell in love with her debut film director Anurag Kashyap. The couple began dating and later on got married on 30th June 2011 in a simple ceremony at Ooty.

Her French Indian looks make her a much loved face of the industry.
