Kacey Hauck - Self Inflicted

her mind is racing
with the pictures un folding
here were the troubles shes facing
theres a knife shes holding

breathing out slowly
with the tears running down her face
her future now looks lonely
her heart is still quickening in pace

she thinks of the pain
and the tears they all caused
wanting to bleed again
when pulling the knife across her arm she never paused

now her heart slows down
to its normal pace
she looks all around
searching for a face

thoughts are gone from her head
that was the point from the start
the turmoil she felt is now dead
she is no longer falling apart

this was her way of escape
getting away from the hate
cuz her head is like a constant tape
the blood now seeping from the gate

but maybe one day she will go too far
when her troubles inclose apon her
and it leaves more than a scar
she can never really be sure

for today and only today
her self inflicted pain is okay
just one more time is fine
the pain thats happened is MINE
