The candle sat their burning bright

My soul dyeing with the flickering of the light

It was not long until I received your word

At nineteen minuets past nine,

Telling me to stay away and keep my distance

She needs to recover from your long resistance.

You left her alone cold in that bed

Your words echoing in her scrambled head,

Walking away leaving her unheard,

Believing our situation, absurd

Finally she was wheeled through, tears down her face,

I had not come to save her, having given up the chase.

So I blew out the candle believing the deed was done,

Once again because of you, my impression wrong.

The voices were soft and faint

As she drifted away to the darkness and her fate,

To then wake feeling empty inside

We both knowing that our dream had died
