Justin Tang - Such Things in It

buying makes me happy
people make me sad
objects are alive
and humans good as dead.
i must shop until i drop,
spend until i end,
and buy until i die.
only then do i exist.

expenditure precedes existence.
i shop to eat
shop to please
shop to sleep
shop to think
shop to know
and shop to grow
and the world needs to have more
children if only to keep the cycle going
to keep the cycle of love alive
o, brave new world that has such things in it!
