Just Cause - Black Earth

"Just Cause", hosted by Colombian human rights advocate Piedad Córdoba, offers a series of documentaries on Latin American economic, political and social realities. Today's program "Black Earth", looks at the struggles of the Garifunas, a Honduran rural community, descendants of Carib, Arawak, and West African peoples. They are fighting to preserve their land and their way of life against attempts to evict them to make for private sector tourism megaprojects or model or charter cities, promoted by the government as free trade zones to attract foreign and national investment. teleSUR
