As I sit alone in this cold lonely night
I feel as though my heart has broken
I am prepared to pick up the million shattered pieces
Just to see your face again.

I do not even remember how convuluted things have become
How two people who understood each other got lost in translation.
I used to feel as light as a feather
Now I feel as though I am made of lead.

My pride prevented me from relishing the gifts you gave
Even though I knew it was from the heart
My antiquated beliefs got the best of me
And I have lost the one man I have ever loved.

I know that we are always in God's hands
And I hope that He is holding me up right now
For I feel so alone and so lost
Waiting for you to come home to my heart.
