Julie Shirley - Japantasy

Embracing the warm
glistening sunlight
that coils around my soft
pink skin on an early
mid June morning.

The beautifully bloomed flowers
let off an extravagant scent
filling me with an exciting
burst of colorful energy.

The pretty pink Sakura trees
filled with buzzing cicadas
reminds me of the coming days
of first semester,
and the warm smiles of friends
who once filled the empty seats
in home room.

The vexatious girls
and perverted boys
who once gave
color to the empty halls
have graduated, and gone.

The hearty sound of
the Westminster Chimes
adds warmth to my blood
as I prepare for the last
three semesters at the place
that helped shaped me.
