I lost my gift
Along the way
From pain to happiness.

My scars were healed -
My lips got sealed.
What had I to confess?

The bliss of moth
Drawn to the light
Devoured by ecstasy,

The razor edge,
The thrill of fall -
'T was all denied to me.

And then I prayed -
A sacrilege -
To have my life rewound:

Burn at the stake
Not doomed to joy
Not both feet on the ground.
