Juan Olivarez - Age

The eyes are maybe,
Not as bright.
The knees hurt constantly now,
I seek the warmth and the light.
But I still have my teeth.

I've lost a step,
Or maybe two.
My beard has now gone white.
But I'm not lonesome or blue,
And I still have my hair.

It seems my age at last,
Has caught up to me,
After so many years.
But I can comb, and walk, and see,
Thank you lord, for everything.
