JSA #14

I'm not usually a fan of the DC big team books but I gave this one a try for the villain that this arch centers around. Now that the multiverse is back in existence all of the else worlds have a presence in current continuity and could show up at any time. This is one such occasion as Gog from the Kingdom Come series by Alex Ross set in a distant future returns to exterminate all pretenders and make way for the resurection of Magog. Gog is a certifiable bad ass and has the potential to cause some serious damage so I thought I'd pick it up and get in on the start of this new arch titled Thy Kingdom Come. This is a great start to an arch and if they can keep the action up at the level it starts with than I will be there for the duration. It is non stop action and has just enough dialog to showcase the dynamic of the JSA and what makes the team interesting. Gog shows up mid way through the book in the middle of the JSA meeting room where they are discussing how to handle him and just starts wrecking fools. There is a ton of destruction and beat downs and it ends with one of the best teaser lines that I've ever heard to get me back for the next issue It says "Next: someone gets beat up, bad" I am so there. The addition of more kingdom come characters is just the icing on the cake. I've never been a fan or avid reader of the JSA but with the recreation of the multiverse they seam to have gained a bit more relevance and this story looks to be a very exciting read. So if you haven't before this is a good time to give the JSA a chance.
