Joyce Hemsley - Nottinghamshire Legend
3 Views • Oct 29, 2014
Description
Robin Hood and his merry merry men
A mystical legend; thrills without end.
Sherwood Forest, and green hills of home
Nottinghamshire parkland, once my abode.
Bows and arrows were quite the 'in-thing'
Robin Hood armour was fit for the king;
Motorcars for travel were never seen, as
Knights on grey horses reigned o'er the green.
Sometimes the men would steal and plunder
But Maid Marian soon tore them asunder...
These were magical days in many ways,
No atom bombs and no internet craze.
Medieval chivalry was always at hand
In Sherwood Forest, our own wonderland.
