Sixty-two syllables:

Japanese poets
made the tanka popular
in the long ago
'Myriad Leaves Collection'
showed tankas to perfection.

Quite acceptable
back in sixteen sixty-five
short verse came alive.
Tanka was a work of art
in poetry from the heart.
