Joyce Chelmo - The Dark Horse

Forever drawn to the Dark Horses.
So much passion; danger,
ardor and complexity.
Likened to standing
on the edge of a waterfall.

Shining muscle and sinew,
too beautiful to keep,
too dangerous to hold.
They stand out among
the rest.

Living hard and fast,
the spirit of fire
in their eyes.

We want to tame them,
but we never will.
Perhaps therein lies
the attraction.
