I wish I was a tree
I want to soak up the sun
And stretch, stretch, stretch, stretch...
And not worry if my stomach shows
Or about falling over
No
I want to dig my roots into the ground
And chill, man....
I want to help you breathe
And if lightning ever struck,
I'd take the hit so you didn't have to
I want to be a tree leaning slightly in
To a tree like you leaning into me
I want to grow old just our branches
Mingled and twisted
I want an old man to cut us down
And turn us in 2x4s so a nail
Could keep us together
As we hold on dearly saying
'One day, I'll be yours even longer'
I mean it
