The blissful thoughts of love I have for you,
By the gleaming glint in your glowing eyes made true—
Those cosmic colors, buried in the depths,
The sparkle of stars atop those golden steps
Align with the myriad hues of evening skies,
Bright orange, ruby red, a blue that tries
To capture all the moods of infant cries.

Wild storms of passion, fear, delight,
A night whose purple wings unfold, take flight—
The veiny limbs and scaly skins of time,
A shining form, pulsating, slick with slime,
That slithers through the sleek and seldom seen
Underside of life, those moldy green
Corridors where no one dares to clean.

What lavish palaces take my withered soul,
Their courtyards calm, beyond the hand’s control—
Rose petals scattered far across the grounds,
Mixed with gentle music, the echoing sounds
Of laughter, eerie noises, and what seems
To be the groans of pain and lonely screams
Made by all the melodies of dreams.

O father, help us, save us from the cold,
Don’t leave us here to die and rot and mold—
O mother, keep us safe and give us health,
And with a little cleverness and stealth
Guide us through these obstacles, this maze,
The folly and the wisdom of our ways,
The labors and burdens of these, our dwindling days.
