Description

Wandering aimlessly at the misty station
Lugging a velvet heart-shaped case
Listening numbly to the conductor's whistle
Trudging past endless grey with dreary pace
Clutching in your palm a wrinkled ticket
And grasping in the other a padded handle
You glance down at your beating heart
And continue on in your doleful ramble.

Feet thudding against the stony pavement
You hesitate when time comes to board
The train pulls out in a flurry of elation
You clutch the velvet case you hoard
And as you stand alone the fog creeps slowly
Wrapping you in a comfortless blanket of gray
You drag on the one thing that remains alive
And trudge on lifeless through your world of clay.
