Two hearts thirsting, searching,
yearning, but oh so scared.
So many heartaches, bad memories,
but hope is not impaired.

The dream of finding true love
has been so long a quest.
I think it's knocking at the door,
this long awaited guest.

Apprehensive, afraid to trust,
gently open, but
quickly shut it with a thrust.

When will these hearts find the one
who'll mend all that went wrong,
Heal the wounds that hold us bound,
fill the void, fill the silence
with love's sweet song.
