Joseph T. Renaldi - Confectionery Store
8 Views • Nov 09, 2014
Description
To a reputable confectionery store,
And I observed the anxious patrons
As they looked the goodies o'er.
I saw them make their choices
And it took me back to the day
When I, too, was standing near the counter
In the store owned by the widower Ray.
I stared in vague indecision
At all the goodies on display
And tapped my hand on the counter
In a nervous and strange way.
At the clerk's helpful suggestions
I could only remain silent and gape,
And I still remained indecisive
As to what goodies I would take.
Buying procedures in a changing world
Is the watchword of today,
But patrons are basically the same
In habits and selecting goodies their way.
Though I may still be indecisive
While looking at goodies by the score,
A display of tried goodies still remain
In the reputable confectionery store.
