Joseph Cross - Creation

A Spark!
A light out of an eternal dark,
ever growing in it's element.
Nothing else is seen,
but the light of new beginnings.
Nothing heard apart,
from the warming angel's call.
As the light grows,
so does the song,
while angels gather round,
spectators to a sport not their own.
'What is forming in this new light? '
'A world, ' he replies,
though none did ask.
And as he works,
the angels watch.
Jealousy steals one,
an angel on high,
one trusted above most.
Yet he hides this,
in God's shining moment,
as jealousy lights a spark!
Yes, a dark out of eternal light!
And it too grows,
yet only he knows,
or so he would suppose.
