Jonny Win - R&D (Original Touch Guitar)

Here is my original touch guitar piece titled R&D. This is by far the most difficult and technical piece of music I have ever played. I haven’t been uploading as much recently because I’ve been working on this song so relentlessly. I’ve spent the last six months practicing the song, trying to get both hands to play as independently as possible while making sure the dynamics of the bass were not over powering the higher notes. After a little while of playing like this I began to get pains in my shoulder and neck, so to fix the comfort problem I began playing with the guitar in front of me while sitting down. I call this “cello position” because it looks a little similar to playing a cello. After I changed to this position, I felt a lot better physically and I realized that the technique was easier this way. This is by no means a “perfect” take, I could practice this song for another 50 years and still not get everything perfect, but I felt this take showed off the technique and the piece really well.

Im going to take a break from this for awhile and work on some other things in the mean time. I have to give a huge thanks to my girl friend who had an infinite amount of patience with me while I worked on this for the last half-year.
