Jon Ojala - Falling Into Eternity

Poets through the ages have said
it starts slowly,
this transfiguration,
much like an autumn leaf
carried gently downstream.
And it does.
Fading into blurry coziness,
losing awareness, orientation,
consciousness,
ending concurrent with beginning.
Suddenly matter explodes in all directions,
leaving awareness all alone for a moment.
Snapping into a blue-white spark,
coalescing into a single point of energy,
awareness races through the cosmos,
gaining impossible speeds,
accelerating always towards the Light,
ever increasing, fully conscious now,
awed by the journey,
always towards the Light,
falling into Eternity.
