Jon M. Nelson - Cat and Mouse

A little mouse would run all around,
Searching for food that was on the ground.

A cat was always waiting there,
Because his food he would not share.

The mouse went running across the floor,
The cat had chased him right out the door.

The mouse was looking for a bite to eat,
And the cat was too quick on his feet.

He chased him as they knocked over chairs,
And even up and down the stairs.

As they ran up and down the halls,
The cat would smack into the walls.

The cat had chased him around the house,
But he could not catch the little mouse.

The mouse ran back into his little hole,
And the cat could not reach his goal.

The mouse was able to get away,
So the cat will try another day.
