I could be alone
like you,
I could be strong,
like you
I could work
full time
and go to school
full time,
drink all day,
people will love me,
give things to me
like me,
like you.
but I care
about people
I hurt when they hurt
I can’t not be
a-
pathetic

can’t you try
to see things
from my perspective,
don’t you ever
think about my
feelings?
do you really
love me?
or do you just say those words
I think about you
and your needs
constantly
can’t you think about mine
just once?
