Just Duckies (Rant)


I came with one goal in mind tonight
To read some poems here on this PH site
But with every turn of the page
I just became more enraged

I would proceed with caution to the poet of my choice
Get all the way to read and rejoice
But then I would have to scroll down
And my smile now turns to a frown

With just one click of the scroll
Up pops a screen and it's not a troll
Cute little yellow duckies all in a row
Moving across the screen so slow

Little red targets on their side
Now what do I decide?
Shoot them down and win a prize
Dinner for two, who knows what size?

NO.....I think not....thank you
Click the screen off so I can resume
To just what it was I came here for
To read poetry all the more

So on and on this story goes
Read a poem...NO...back to the duckies all in a row
I guess tonight is not my night to get lucky
Because all I'm stuck with is annoying duckies
