Description
The foiling UFO is about you. It is about making something small, durable, extremely fun, fast, easy to use and easy to own and maintain. It is about doing this for $7600 with no hidden costs. It is about giving you the opportunity and the time to do more fun things, more often with more of your friends. And it is built be renowned industry veterans, right in the heart of Bristol Rhode Island. Visit their plant on Franklin Street to see fleets of UFOs coming off the production line. They have built 209 as of this writing.
Being small is a benefit in weight, cost, ease of use, ease of rigging, transportation and storage. The entire rigged boat with all of its parts weighs 110 pounds, so there simply isn't much to worry about. And then there's the performance you get out of something light. The UFO can fly in 8 knots of windspeed and above, and can handle shockingly heavy wind (35 knots) manageably and without breakage, having fun all the way. It foils upwind, downwind and on reaches in all conditions when it can foil, making going for a fun sail truly pleasant and making racing a truly exhilarating experience..
Withdrawable foils which pull up fully clear of the hull make it possible to properly beach launch and land the boat from any venue. A basic halyard makes the boat a complete breeze to rig and take out. The mast collapses into thee parts, the boom folds flat and the foils break down into flat portions, so the whole thing ends up fitting in the back of a Prius, with the boat secured on top on roof racks. This makes life incredibly simple when you own a UFO.
The UFO can be set up to fly high in the air or flat on the surface and all points in between, thanks to it's easily programmable wand system, so it is rewarding for outright beginners and veteran foiling sailors alike. Fulcrum Speedworks guarantees the UFO will never become boring to you. The learning curve is long, gentle and exciting. Join the invasion and free yourself from drag.
