JOHNNY OSBOURNE live @ Main Stage 2012

Johnny Osbourne is one of the Jamaican singers who has shown the most versatility in his career, adapting his energetic soul-rich voice to various styles which follow one another.
He started singing in the end of the seventies for Winston Riley with the Wildcats, even though his debut was at the same time with 'All I have is love' which was rapidly followed by the hits 'Come back darling' and 'Warrior' for Riley.
At this time Johnny went to Canada for a few years. When he came back in 1979 he recorded a series of remarkable songs for Studio One, partly collected in the album 'Truths and rights' - a masterwork. In the same year he recorded 'Folly ranking' for Prince Jammy, for whom he also made splendid dancehall hit songs like 'Lend me your chopper' and 'Water pumpin'. After that, past the digital development he literally exploted with 'Buddy bye', 'On the right track' and 'Ice cream sound'.
His style from this period is the authentic quintessence of sung dancehall.
