these childhood lanes
the familiar scenes still vivid
the kites, the marbles, the games..
oh! this longing to see childhood friends

my feet pain and my
mid-age heart nearly leaps
out as i climb this great wall
the laughters i hear echo
in the hills like the cries of builders
