john tiong chunghoo - Cloud withdrew from the Sky
4 Views • Nov 07, 2014
Description
because he is right there
each day painting the cloud
from white to grey to
oppressive dark
a new picture for you
sweeps into view
each breath of our day
dont ask where god is
because he is just right here
stringing vapour into clouds
working our red hot blood
pouring cool rain over the land
tending to the migrating birds
sending the wind out for their flight
dont ask where god is
for he is right in the field
bathing the land with his tears
for all the crops to sprout
so that we could share his booty
dont ask where god is
he is right up there
painting the cloud
from white to scarlet to stormy grey
dont ask where god is
he is right here straining his love
to make sure you have the best of him
poured out like tea to warm up your day
inspired by
Cloud withdrew from the Sky
A Cloud withdrew from the Sky
Superior Glory be
But that Cloud and its Auxiliaries
Are forever lost to me
Had I but further scanned
Had I secured the Glow
In an Hermetic Memory
It had availed me now.
Never to pass the Angel
With a glance and a Bow
Till I am firm in Heaven
Is my intention now.
Emily Dickinson
