I walk up those steps
and I know what's ahead
it's the place to “learn”
I hear it so much, it makes me burn

I want to turn it upside down
oh, I gotta change that frown
'cause we got the school blues
there's is nothing we want to do
we just want to chill and hang fun
no time to stop us because the party's just begun

hey, listen you
I'm so living outta the school blues

next morning, oh what do I see
I look confused, going to my seat
it's a discipline report, I read in my head
“john through a party” is what it read

“out the door! ”the teacher yelled
almost out the door until I fell

I say to myself again:

what did I do?
All we needed was something new
and out the door I flew,
while I sang a song about school blue
