~A little man, with a little guitar, trying to make it big~

19 year old singer/songwriter John Gaughan from Galway is exactly that.

Having picked up the guitar at the age of 12 he started writing songs when he was 13. He entered his first singing competition on RTE when he was 14 and ended up taking home the title of RTE ICE Starsearch winner 2008. Two years later and it was time for another competition, this time the All Ireland Teen Idol title became John's after a unique rendition of Lady Gaga's Poker Face.

Throughout all this, John continued to write songs and gig as much as possible, opening for such names as Irish band Keywest, Irish singer/songwriter Orla Gartland and UK singer/songwriter Lewis Watson.

Then in 2013 John auditioned for RTE's hit show the Voice of Ireland making it to the semi-final on team Sharon. Fresh off the back of his time there he has now recorded his debut EP which consists of four of his original songs available on iTunes from the 19th of September.
