John Garth Raubenheimer - Rodney

Bearded, black hair
with a good physique
Rodney looked like a young
Tom Cruise.
I later learned he
was a paedophile.
I'd been blabbing
about all the amazing things

God was teaching me
every day

- as I
thought He was then
(we were all mad
in that place; except me
of course
and apparently Rodney) .
He looked at me.
It was a straight look,
he said, 'Is there anything,
do you think, God
can't forgive? '
'God forgives everything, '
I blabbed triumphantly.

It was years before I
saw him again.
I'd gone to 'Sterkies'
to get some medicine.
This fat, balding man
I hardly recognised,
said, 'I'm sorry I don't

know who you are.
They've given me an op
to help me with my problem.'
I saw the crude wires
in his scalp.
'I'm living in hope,
I say this to everyone.
I'm beginning to feel more
positive about myself.'
