I mostly play guitar but I like making sounds from whatever I find. Live, I sometimes have mates play for the craic, sometimes i'm all acoustic and more often than not i'll have the crappy Yamaha keyboard backing me with some beats and effects. Since December 2006, I've been han solo-it's great-the only downfall is wishing I had more hands and maybe a bigger brain to operate them. I'm into melodies, rearranging songs I've already written and experimenting with the pop/rock thing...
I'm influenced by everything I hear. At first it was just bands but that's changed.I used to listen to Nirvana, Dinosaur jr or anything Grungey/Punk. Now,i listen to the music of BadlyDrawnBoy, DanielJohnston, AphexTwin, Vialka, Portishead, but my favourite music is made by my mates and fellow parishoners of the Church of Limrock.
I've played gigs with ThePlasticEgyptians,Moonboot, TheHitchers, MyFriendJudas, Tooth, Windings, Giveamanakick, WalterMittyand theRealists, StanleySuper800 and TheDeadClass.
At the moment i'm recording my first album with Gareth O'Shea at Notebooks. It has roughly 12/13 trax- I haven't made my mind up yet.I'm hoping to have it ready by July 2007. On the album I play guitar,keyboard,tablas,harmonica and synth sounds. I'm now using some circuit-bending for writing songs but this is still on the drawing board.
